Woody Garvin, Senior Pastor
Pastor Woody Garvin came to Valley Presbyterian Church in 2004.
In this role, he serves as head of staff for the church. Pastor Garvin
and his wife Stephne live in Scottsdale and have two married sons
and several grandchildren. He is an avid cyclist.
Marilyn Manning, Associate Pastor for Mission and Outreach
Marilyn Manning was called to Valley Church in 2001 to serve as Associate Pastor
for Mission and Outreach. Pastor Manning oversees community, national and international mission, which includes ministry in our greater Phoenix area, and leading mission teams to Chalco, Mexico and to Malawi, Africa. She has five children and 13 grandchildren.
Marilyn enjoys listening to music, playing the piano, reading, hiking and spending
time with family and friends.
Ruth Reinhold, Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Fellowship
Ruth has been a pastor for 25 years; she’s served in five Presbyterian Churches in Virginia, California and Arizona. She’s worked in campus ministry, jails, homeless shelters and with refugees, consistently specializing in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Ruth loves working with families undergoing grief and with couples working on their marriages. Ruth has been married to Russ Low for 25 years and they have one son in college. Ruth’s hobbies include hiking, travel, spending time with her Corgi dogs, going to the movies and reading.
David Turner, Associate Pastor of Education and Discipleship
Pastor David Turner joined the staff of Valley Presbyterian Church in 2008. He oversees Christian Education and Discipleship for adults, students, and children which includes Sunday and Midweek classes, Sports Ministry, student programs, children’s Sunday school, plus other Christian-based courses throughout the year. David and his wife Stacy live in Scottsdale and have a son in college and a daughter in high school. David enjoys sports including skiing, hiking and biking, and likes spending time with family.
